Repositioning Cruises are Back

This morning Charlene checked repositioning cruises in and found 23 cruises for $60 of less!

Most of these great deals are from Europe to the U.S. and South America. but some are from the U.S. to Japan. If you are ready for a seriously discounted cruise now is a good time to be booking these fall trips. In the past we have put together FastDeals based on the value of Repositioning Cruises. Here are some of the deals we liked this week:

ROME TO MIAMI FOR $42 A NIGHT: We love this cruise it’s a pretty standard 14 day cruise leaving Rome on November the 15th. You will sailing with Norwegian Cruise Line on the Norwegian Star. Sadly you will only have three stops, Barcelona. Funchal, and St. Maarten. This Cruise has very reasonable tax and fees for $107 per person which means that an inside cabin is only going to set you back around $707 plus any mandatory tips for your 14 day cruise.

This is the type of cruise that we like to use as the end to a nice European vacation. October is shoulder season in Europe and you can find one-way flights from the U.S. to Rome for less than $300. We found a flight from Boston to Rome for $242 on October 9th with TAP. Also because it is shoulder season lodging in Europe will be more available and cheaper the the high season crowds will be gone.

GENOA TO SAO PAULO FOR $43 A NIGHT: Unlike the Rome cruise this cruise this 20 day cruise offers 9 ports in Europe and 4 ports in Brazil. The extra ports on this cruise is nice and the price is very reasonable, with tax and fees the total for a base level inside cabin is around $1048 plus mandatory tips for a cruise or 20 nights with 10 ports of call.

This Cruise is with MSC is on the MSC Fantasia and docks at the following ports: Marseille, Barcelona, Palma, Cartagena, Malaga, Casablanca, Lanzarote, Santa Cruz, Salvador, Brazil, Llheus, Brazil Rio before you get Sao Paulo.

Like the Rome cruise, flights to Europe will be reasonable. The flight back from San Paulo is a little tricky, flights will usually cost around $800 one way. One work around for this high air fare is a $516 flight from Sao Paulo to Miami  offered by COPA airlines every Saturday. The twist to this flight is a 21 hour layover at Panama City, Panama’s, Tocumen International airport. If you don’t mind a day exploring Panama and going in and out of customs you could choose this COPA flight and make a little lemonade out of the costly flight home from Brazil. Depending on which Sao Paulo airport you fly out of the transport from the ship to the airport can be interesting. Give yourself some time for the transport and try to organize the trip to the airport in advance.

These two cruise represent two different experiences the first is a classic reposition. Not many ports and more designed as transportation in style back to the U.S.. The second is a travel vacation in it’s self and offers multiple destinations. We like both of them and the price for both of them is excellent.

Happy travels
