Free Museum and Zoo Admissions

Your Bank of America Credit Card can get you FREE admissions to attractions all over America like museums, botanical gardens and zoos.

This amazing program is fully described at the Bank of America website under the Museums on Us program.

With the Museums on Us program participants are granted free entry into hundreds of attractions on the first weekend of every month. Bank of America offers this advantage to the individuals carrying the following credit cards: Bank of America® Cash RewardsBankAmericard®Bank of America® Travel Rewards; and the Bank of America® Premium Rewards®.

The only card with an annual fee is the Bank of America® Premium Rewards®. Our pick of these four cards has to be the Bank of America® Travel Rewards card which offers a bonus sign up of 20,000 points which amounts to a $200 bonus you can take off of you travel costs which are charged to the card. The Bank of America® Travel Rewards card is a card that you will want to keep in your wallet. With a -0- annual fee and the offer of free admissions into hundreds of attractions nation wide this is one of the best cards out there as far as bang for the buck.

None of the Bank of America cards offer exceptional deals on their return for daily spend but the Bank of America® Travel Rewards; does offer 1.5 points of each $1 spent. We value each Bank of America Reward Point at 1 cent so in essence your getting about 1.5% return on your spend. Based on Bank of America’s Preferred Rewards program for bank customers with savings accounts at Bank of America this return on your spend can be expanded to ~ a 2.5% return on your spend but that still can’t compete with the 3% to 9% return on spend offered by cards like the Amex EveryDay® Preferred Credit Card.

If you are new to credit cards, building your credit,  don’t have good credit or just don’t want another credit card the Museum for Us program is also available to people who hold the Bank of America Mastercard® debit card. This is a great tool for people with limited credit like students who would still like to take advantage of free museums, botanical gardens and zoos. All you need to qualify for the Bank of America debit card is an account with Bank of America. There is a small monthly fee for this card in some circumstances but if you only hit one museum a month you are way ahead of the game. This might be a good travel asset for our young Geezers.

When we travel Charlene and I love hitting the local attractions. The Bank of America Cards can get you into over 175 participating cultural institutions nationwide in 98 cities in 33 states.

Just for fun we did this screen shot of the attractions just in New York City. In a year for museum hopping just in the Big Apple you could save hundreds of dollars in admission fees on these 9 New York attractions.

There are a few restrictions you need to know about with this deal. First, the deal only admits the card holder (Char and I both got a card). Second the dates are restricted to the first weekend of every month and some attractions only allow one day a month. Finally, most of the free admissions will not include special events and attractions like IMax theater or special exhibits. In order to get the free admission all you have to do is present your Bank of America credit card and a valid ID at the admissions booth.

If you love the arts or natural attractions like zoos and botanical gardens this is an amazing Geezer travel tool that every serious Geezer should apply for.

In conclusion, all of the Bank of America cards offer small bonus’s, none of the Bank of America cards offer good deals for return on daily spend but the Bank of America cards with no annual fees that offer the advantage of getting into hundreds of attractions like museums, botanical gardens and zoos for free, make them excellent cards to carry in your wallet.
