Adults Only

As the cruise industry expands with many of the major cruise lines building new Cruise ship there is a new kid on the block.

Billionaire Richard Branson is expanding his Virgin Brand into the cruise industry with his new project Virgin Voyages. Virgin Voyages is presently building a new fleet of cruise ships in the Fincantieri’s Genoa shipyard in Genoa Italy.

Virgin Voyages first cruises are slated to depart from Miami in 2020. The three ships under construction at this time are set to be launched in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Each of the ships will carry 2,800 passengers and Virgin announced at hull laying ceremony, in Genoa this week, that it was accepting $500 refundable deposits for “access to an exclusive pre-sale before Virgin Voyages goes on general sale”.

At the Genoa ceremony Virgin Voyages executives gave a hint about the type of target market they would be pursuing. CEO Tom McAlpin announced that the ships will be “Adult by design”. It has also been announced that 86% of all cabins will feature a sea terrace and 93% an ocean view. That’s right no one under the age of 18 can cruise with Virgin Voyage.

Those facts seem to indicate that Virgin Voyages will be targeting high-end adult cruisers. I’m sure Disney and Carnival are breathing easier.

If you want to get in on the bottom floor, and insure your cabin on the first of these adult ,high end cruises you can go to and pay your $500 refundable deposit.
